This site was created because it is time for Jews with
disabilities to be seen and heard. Our goal is
to embrace a spirit where we can
express ourselves freely, take a stand, be a part of a
welcoming community, and rejoice in our strengths and
abilities. We need to ask for help while striving for
independence in whatever fashion we can attain for
ourselves. We will support each other emotionally and
spiritually through this site. This site will help
create the tools we need to be our own
advocates.
We can do this by empowering
ourselves: supporting one another in breaking the barriers we
face, educating ourselves and others about the many types of
disabilities and how to become a truly inclusive culture, and working
together to address issues as they arise. Together, we can begin
to fulfill our dreams and the promise of our full
potential.
I am excited to meet new people
everywhere who have a story to share. We our bound by our
Judaism and our disabilities, let us find a way to honor both in one
another and ourselves!
